A Swiss motorway vignette is mandatory for all motor vehicles and trailers with a total weight of up to 3.5 tonnes using our national motorways and expressways. This category includes:
- Passenger cars
- Motorcycles
- Campervans
- Vans
Trailers and caravans are subject to their own vignette requirement. A separate vignette must be purchased for the towed unit, regardless of whether the towing vehicle already displays one.
If your vehicle is heavier than 3.5 tonnes, the vignette requirement is replaced by a separate Heavy Vehicle Charge (PSVA). You must pay this distance or flat-rate toll instead of purchasing a vignette.
You can calculate and order the required Heavy Vehicle Charge (LSVA/PSVA) here.
