Driving on a Swiss motorway without a valid vignette (physical sticker or e-vignette) results in strict penalties.
Violators are issued a fine of CHF 200 and must also purchase a valid vignette immediately (CHF 40). This results in a minimum amount to pay of CHF 240.
Using a tampered, reused, or manipulated vignette is classified as fraud and may lead to criminal prosecution beyond the standard fines. Our advice: Never buy second hand vignettes from Ebay, Amazon or other online marketplaces.
