In Switzerland, the annual motorway vignette (digital or physical sticker) is valid for the calendar year only.
The validity period is 14 months, running from 1 December of the previous year until 31 January of the following year. The vignette for 2026 is valid from 1 December 2025 to 31 January 2027.
The purchase date does not affect the validity period.
This means:
- The vignette is not valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Even if purchased in July 2026, the vignette will still expire on 31 January 2027.

Important: Even if you only drive for a couple of hours on the Swiss toll roads, you are required to purchase the yearly vignette.
