Modification & Refunds

Can I get a refund for the PSVA?

Generally, no. Swiss PSVA payments are not refundable. But there are a few very limited exceptions.

A refund is not possible if:

  • You don’t use the vehicle
  • The vehicle is parked, deregistered, sold, or stolen

A refund is possible under certain conditions if:

  • When leaving Switzerland earlier (check conditions here)
  • Duplicate payment (e.g., you paid twice for the same vehicle and period)
  • Administrative error by the authority (wrong vehicle class, incorrect charge)

Requests for refunds should be addressed to the Traffic Charges Division of the FOCBS. Please submit a copy of the receipt concerned as well as your payment details (IBAN) with your request.
